Once the center of a thriving Ukrainian immigrant community in rural St. Helena, North Carolina, Sts Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church has seen the congregation all but disappear.
After the last mass was performed by a member of the clergy in 1998, the three remaining faithful have kept the church open and having mass every Sunday by a most unorthodox manner.
